'Mayasir' was a very costly and fine silk which the rich men used in those days to cover the saddles of their horses. This hadith means that these saddles which men will ride on at the end of times are not real saddles which are placed on the back of horses, they only resemble saddles.
Holy Prophet(Peace be upon him) in all probability is referring to those vehicles which have been invented in this era, i.e., cars and bikes.Because they have comfortable, soft, and tender seats like saddles in earlier days. And people use these cars and bikes to go to mosques.
At earlier time, camels ,donkeys and horses were used as means of transport.Noone could have imagined of mechanical vehicles e.g motorcycles, motor cars, etc.
Also in earlier days, people were not used to riding camels or horses to go praying to mosques. As villages were very small,so people used to walk to mosques.
Holy Prophet(peace be upon him) said that people will travel on something having comfortable big seats.i.e. They won't be riding on beasts and people would alight from them on doors of mosques.
It is a prophecy which we witness every Friday when cars and bikes gather in front of the mosques…SubhanAllah!
