~~~Where two water bodies meet... but do not mix!~~~

 In this photo two bodies of water were merging in the middle of The Gulf of Alaska and there was a foam developing only at their junction. It is a result of the melting glaciers being composed of fresh water and the ocean has a higher percentage of salt causing the two bodies of water to have different densities and therefore makes it more difficult to mix.

This is a living exmaple of the following verse in the Qur'an:

[Surah Al-Rahman 55:19] He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet.

[Surah Al-Rahman 55:20] Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another.

[Surah Al-Rahman 55:21] So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny?

In All probability,this is a type of of halocline.In oceanography, a halocline is a subtype of chemocline caused by a strong, vertical salinity gradient within a body of water. Because salinity (in concert with temperature) affects the density of seawater, it can play a role in its vertical separation as can be seen in this photo.

As Allah says in another place in the Qur'an:

And He is the One Who joined two rivers, this (one) very sweet and freshening and that (other one) very salty and bitter. And He set a barrier and a strong partition between them.{Surah Al-Furqan Chapter 25 : Verse 53}

This phenomenon occurs in several places, including:

·  The divider between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean at Gibralter.

·  Cape Point, Cape Peninsula, South Africa where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Indian Ocean.

·   Egypt, where the river Nile flows into the Mediterranean Sea.

These scientific phenomena mentioned in the Qur’an was also confirmed by Dr. William Hay, a well known marine scientist and Professor of Geological Sciences at the University of Colorado, U.S.A.

Here are two beautiful ahadith which tell us that there are 360 joints in the human body

■ Hazrat Aisha (Radiallahu Anha) reported Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) as saying: 

"Everyone has been created with three hundred and sixty Joints. 

Whoever mentions Allah's greatness (says Allahu Akbar),

praises Allah,

 extols Allah, and

seeks forgiveness from Allah and

removes stones from the path of the people,

enjoins what is good and forbids the evil to the amount of those three hundred and sixty joints (sulama), he walks on that Day (of Judgment) having distanced himself from the Hell fire.".

■ Narrated Buraydah ibn al-Hasib(Radiyallahu Anhu): 

"I heard the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) say:

"A human being has three hundred and sixty joints for each of which he must give alms. "

The people asked him: “Who is capable of doing this?”

 He replied:” It may be mucus in the mosque which you bury, and something which you remove from the road;

 but if you do not find such, two rak'ahs in the forenoon will be sufficient for you. “

The Scientific Fact: The joint is a point of articulation of two bones, a bone and gristle, or two gristles in anypart of the human body. 

The total number of joints, according to scientists, is: 

1- Skull joints: 86 

2- Throat joints: 6 

3- Thorax joints: 66 

4- Spine and Pelvis joints: 76 

5- Upper limbs: 32 x 2 = 64 

6- Lower limbs: 31 x 2= 62 

Total number of joints: 360.

Facets of Scientific Inimitability: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said that the number of joints in the human body is 360, although at that time it was impossible to know such information, for most of the joints are very small and hard to see with the naked eye. The exact number of joints was not discovered until development in the fields of anatomy and histology. 

Thus, the Prophet (peace be upon him) accurately pinpointed the number of joints fourteen centuries ago while modern anatomy came to assert this scientific fact only recently.
